How Image to Text for Chrome handles your data.

This page explains what the product reads, what it stores, what third parties are involved, and how to contact support if you have privacy questions.

What the product does

Image to Text for Chrome helps you turn screenshots, scans, photos, and visible browser tabs into text you can copy or download.

What we process

When you use the free reading flow, the core extraction experience is designed to run in the browser or extension. In the current version, uploaded images and captured tabs are processed locally for the OCR flow instead of being sent to our servers. If you upload an image, capture a tab, or paste an access key, the product uses that information only to provide the text-reading and paid-unlock features.

What we store

The extension stores the most recent capture locally long enough to move it into the reading view. The product also stores a paid access key locally on your device when you unlock Lifetime so the paid workflow stays available on that browser or extension.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details ourselves. Stripe may collect billing and payment information to process purchases and help prevent fraud.

Chrome Web Store limited use

Website content, uploaded images, extracted text, and access-key data are used only to provide the product's image-to-text and paid-access features, keep the service secure, and comply with the law. We do not sell user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use or transfer it for purposes unrelated to the product's single purpose.
